ABOUT ME
I'm a licensed clinical social worker providing both short and long term therapy for individuals and couples in Chicago. I received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago.
My professional experience includes over 23 years of working with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues. I have worked in community mental health, outpatient, substance abuse and residential settings. My approach is one that offers warmth and empathy while helping clients explore the nature of their problems and discover avenues for positive change. I incorporate a variety of approaches in my work including relational psychodynamic theory, Cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems theory, Sensorimotor psychotherapy/mind-body approaches, and mindfulness practices. I completed the Level 1 & Level 2 training programs in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (S.P.) in Chicago between 2014 and 2018.
Since 2022, I have been training & working in the breakthrough field of psychedelic-assisted therapy for the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety & addiction. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more about this unique and highly effective treatment option.
My specialty areas include: anxiety and stress management, depression and other mood disorders, relationship issues, LGBT issues, healing from trauma and loss & navigating life transitions. I see clients in-person at my offices in Chicago (Ravenswood neighborhood) and/or Highland Park. I also meet with clients virtually, as needed.
When not working, I enjoy walking in nature, reading, movies, music and traveling around the world.
